Designed to speed up your learning and work
The TBS1000C Series Oscilloscopes are designed for quick hands-on training and easy operation, with an ideal combination of features and functions. Dedicated front panel controls enable easy access to all key settings. The graticule features 10 vertical divisions and 15 horizontal divisions, allowing you to view more signal on each screen.
Large on-screen menus with clear labels and color-coded information make it easy to navigate and locate information of interest. The zoom function allows you to quickly scroll through the record and zoom in to view signal details in the area of interest.
In zoom mode, the upper half of the display shows an overview of the entire record, and the lower half shows the detailed zoomed view.
Versatile Trigger and Acquisition Modes
The trigger system is engineered for debugging modern mixed-signal designs. In addition to basic edge trigger, it also includes pulse width trigger and runt pulse trigger, which are especially suitable for debugging the digital part of your design.
Pulse width trigger is ideal for finding narrow glitches or timeout conditions. Runt pulse trigger is designed to capture signals with amplitude shorter than the expected amplitude.
The TBS1000C Series oscilloscopes offer several acquisition modes. The default acquisition mode is Sample mode, which is suitable for most applications. Peak Detect mode is used to find glitches, and Average mode helps reduce noise on repetitive signals.
Automated Measurement and Analysis
A full set of automatic measurements enables fast and convenient testing for various signals and applications.
All measurements are displayed on a single screen. They are divided into four main categories: frequency, time, amplitude and area. All measurements are shown on a single measurement selection screen, allowing you to easily select from 32 automatic measurements without browsing through multiple menus.
Measurements are color-coded by source and displayed on a transparent background, so the waveform will not be blocked by the measurement readings.
List and select all measurements on one screen
Measurement readouts are transparent, so they will not block the waveform
FFT Function
Press the FFT button on the front panel to activate the FFT function and analyze the frequency components of your signal.
You can choose to display only FFT, or enable source waveform display to view both frequency-domain and time-domain waveforms at the same time. Transparent readouts show key settings without blocking the FFT display.
The time-domain source waveform can be displayed above the FFT frequency spectrum
HelpEverywhere®
The HelpEverywhere® system provides graphical help text explaining different instrument settings, making it easier for new users to identify which measurement to use and interpret measurement results. Help is provided in the same language as the user interface.
HelpEverywhere® tips explain important instrument settings.
Innovative New Educational Solution
The TBS1000C Series oscilloscopes offer multiple features that allow educators to spend more time teaching fundamental concepts. An introductory oscilloscope manual is embedded in the TBS1000C help system. Pressing the help button on the front panel lets you access information about basic oscilloscope operations, and view an overview of the TBS1000C oscilloscope, its controls and usage tips.

Scope Intro (Oscilloscope Introduction) covers the operation of the basic TBS1000C oscilloscope
Functions such as automatic setup, cursors and automatic measurement can be disabled on the instrument. By disabling these automatic functions, students can learn basic concepts and how to use horizontal and vertical controls to acquire waveforms, use the scale to measure time and voltage, and manually plot/calculate signal characteristics.
Menu Functions
The integrated Courseware function allows instructors to load experimental exercises into the instrument, provide guidance to students at each station, and offers a structured framework that enables students to capture data for inclusion in reports.Tektronix Courseware Resource Center provides more than 100 downloadable experimental exercise samples.
The Courseware function allows students to view experiment information on the instrument display
Flexible Data Transfer
Using the USB host port on the front of the instrument, you can easily save instrument settings, screenshots and waveform data to a USB flash drive.
TekScope
TekScope software enables you to easily transfer data directly from an oscilloscope to a PC for offline analysis, thereby extending the instrument's functionality. With this remote analysis software package for benchtop oscilloscopes, you can run protocol decoding on the most common buses (I2C, SPI, CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and UART), use advanced analysis functions including measurement, trend, histogram, search and mark, and perform offline waveform analysis. All of these operations are done in a single user environment that is identical to that of our high-performance instruments.
Waveform Analysis with TekScope on PC
PC Connection
Easily capture, save and analyze measurement results by connecting a PC to the USB device port on the rear of the instrument and using OpenChoice® PC communication software available from the Tektronix website. It is extremely simple to drag screen images and waveform data into any standalone desktop application or directly into Microsoft Word and Excel.
OpenChoice Desktop
Kickstart
Kickstart software provides benchtop instrument control, automated data collection and measurement logging for multiple instruments on a single workbench. Collected data can be plotted for deeper insights, and exported in multiple formats for further analysis. It supports oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), power supplies and source measurement units (SMU).
