Detailed Introduction Technical Documents

TCP300 and TCP400 series AC/DC current measurement is an advanced current measurement system that meets today's current measurement demands. When connected to a Tektronix oscilloscope via TEKPROBE Level II, TekConnect (using TCA-BNC) or TekVPI (using TPA-BNC) interfaces, current measurement and calculation becomes easy and straightforward.

Key Specifications

AC/DC Measurement Capability

  • DC - 100 MHz, for use with current probe amplifier (TCPA300):

    • DC - 100 MHz, 30 A DC (TCP312A)

    • DC - 50 MHz, 50 A DC (TCP305A)

    • DC - 15 MHz, 150 A DC (TCP303)

  • DC - 50 MHz, for use with current probe amplifier (TCPA400):

    • DC - 2 MHz, 750 A DC 1 (TCP404XL) (500 A DC continuous current)

Meeting Today's AC/DC Current Measurement Applications

When used with TCP312A, TCP305A or TCP303 probes, the TCPA300 amplifier provides a series of current measurement capabilities, filling the gap between low-current measurement products and ultra-high current measurement products. These three probes support current measurement of 30 A, 50 A and 150 A continuous DC current. For higher current levels, the TCPA400 amplifier with TCP404XL current probe can measure 500 A and 750 A continuous DC current, with derating dependent on duty cycle.

TCP312A with TCPA300 delivers higher frequency performance, offering a bandwidth of ≥100 MHz and a maximum DC current of 30A.

Completely Eliminates Measurement Errors and Manual Calculation

This new series of current measurement tools provides automatic control, on-screen scaling and units for users of Tektronix TDS3000, TDS500, TDS600, TDS700, TDS5000, TDS6000 and TDS7000B series oscilloscope systems (for DPO3000, MDO/MSO/DPO4000, MSO/DPO5000 and DPO7000 series oscilloscopes, a TPA-BNC adapter is required).

TCP300/TCP400 current measurement systems can be seamlessly integrated with TDS series oscilloscopes.

Even for non-TEKPROBE systems, the TCPA300/400 series can be used to perform corresponding current measurements; users only need to multiply the output voltage measured on the oscilloscope by the range setting value of the TCPA300/400 series.
